Volunteer for the Seacoast Century and Ride for Free!

Working on the Century is a Club tradition and a great time to meet other members and riders from across New England. Our GSW Seacoast Century volunteers are a big reason why riders come back.

If you've helped out in the past or are considering signing on for the first time, we can use your help. Last year 100 volunteers made our Century a success. Last year we recruited Seacoast church and youth organizations to help and contributed a donation to their group. We plan to continue this collaboration, but still need about 80 Club volunteers.

Volunteer benefits:
Ride the Century for free in exchange for 4 hours of your time
Volunteer and rider tee shirts
Bowl or soup or chili.
Our eternal gratitude and all the peanut butter & jelly sandwiches you can eat!

Many folks volunteer one day and ride the Century the other or help out in the AM and ride in the PM.

How Can You Help?

Volunteers play many roles.

Prior to Century Weekend: If you want to help before the Century Weekend, we need volunteers to help mark the routes, publicity, checking over supplies, and work with sponsors and the Century Bike EXPO. We are also looking at a few folks to take the lead on key roles: Century Marking, Century Store/Merchandise, Century EXPO, Rest Stop Coordinators, and Communications/Media. We are also looking for future Century Leaders that can work with our Team this year.

Century Weekend: On Friday, September 21st, volunteers assist by loading and unloading the Century rental truck, setting up Headquarters at Hampton Beach, separating the Century food and gear for the rest stops and early check-in for riders on Friday evening (4-6pm). On Saturday and Sunday, we need volunteers to check-in riders, staff the rest stops, support vehicle drivers, assistance with the Rider Hot Line (dispatch support vehicles), selling merchandise, EXPO and checking riders back in. On Sunday afternoon, we'll need a crew to help with breaking down Headquarters, packing up the rental truck, and delivering the gear back to our storage unit.
